Scott Killgore

Scott joined KQ2 in September, 2022. He was born in St. Joseph and grew up nearby, in a Clinton County farm family.
Scott has had two careers, the first being broadcast journalism. For seventeen years, he worked in broadcast newsrooms, mostly radio, but some TV. That career began here in St. Joseph at KFEQ Radio and also took him to Kansas City, Detroit, Denver, Columbia, South Carolina, and Charlotte. For eleven of those years, he was a News Director, and two of his News Departments won major national awards.
In 1992, he left broadcasting to enter seminary and ministry and spent the next 28 years as a local church pastor. For almost 25 years, he was a pastor at Wyatt Park Christian Church in St. Joseph. He retired from full-time ministry in December, 2020.
Scott has long been active in the St. Joseph community, volunteering with multiple non-profit organizations, and also serving on, and leading, multiple non-profit Boards of Directors.
At KQ2, you will most often see Scott brining you the latest weather information. You'll also see him helping to anchor newscasts and special events coverage. Behind the scenes, he can be found doing what he especially enjoys - mentoring and encouraging young journalists whose careers are just beginning.
Scott and his wife Deirdra (Deedie) have three grown children. They live in St. Joseph.
