Brett Kennedy

Brett is a Colorado State graduate with a degree in Journalism. He has been working in the professional television industry since 2017. KQ2 is Brett's third market he has worked at.
Brett came to KQ2 in August of 2023. He moved back to Missouri to be closer to family and cover the teams he grew up watching.
Brett was born in Kansas City and lived the first few years of his life in Prairie Village, Kansas before spending time after first grade living in Kentucky and Colorado.
Brett is named after Kansas City Royals legend George Brett! He is a lifelong sports fan and grew up watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals on TV.
Brett is part of the KQ2 Sports team where he covers local sports teams and athletes' stories from around the area.
Before working KQ2, Brett spent four years working at an ABC/FOX station that was an hour from the Atlantic Ocean in New Bern, North Carolina. HE covered events such as the ACC Men's Basketball Tournament, ACC football games at East Carolina, North Carolina, and N.C. State, the Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament, and College Baseball Regional and Super Regional Tournaments at East Carolina University.
Before working in North Carolina, Brett spent two years working at a CBS TV Station in Great Falls, Montana. He covered rodeos, college and high school sports during his time there.
In Brett's spare time, he enjoys hiking, going to the gym, watching movies and spending time with family.
