United Way celebrates wins at annual meeting

Jake Walker

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) — United Way of St. Joseph held its annual meeting Thursday afternoon at the Fulkerson Center at Missouri Western State University.

Members of the group celebrated their accomplishments over the last year, as well as acknowledged members set to retire from the organization.

The 2025 Board chair, Michelle Clark, is extremely happy with everything United Way has done the last year.

“The campaign raised over $2.4 million,” Clark said. “Ninety cents of every dollar stays right here in the community and is distributed right away.”

United Way also recognized new board members for the next year at the meeting.

One of which is the new Board chair, Doug Walter.

“United Way is about building bridges in the community,” Walter said. “Not only through partnering with agencies, but our own initiatives as well.”

United Way looks to continue giving back to the community of St. Joseph over the next year.
