Tracking evening rain chances on Wednesday

Good morning and happy Wednesday. We’re halfway through the workweek, and as you head out the door this morning, temperatures have improved. We’re starting in the upper 30s to low 40s across the St. Joseph area.

We will continue to warm up today, although it will be slightly cooler than yesterday. A light north breeze will persist throughout the day, but we’re not expecting the gusty conditions we saw Tuesday. A cold front will drop temperatures by about 5 degrees compared to yesterday, before we quickly warm back into the 60s on Thursday.

Overnight tonight, a weak system will bring scattered rain showers between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. The rain should not impact the Thursday morning commute. Sunshine returns Thursday and Friday, with temperatures climbing into the 70s by Friday afternoon.

Another cold front moves through Friday evening, dropping temperatures into the 50s on Saturday and the upper 30s by Sunday. As colder air settles in, a rain-snow mix will be possible late Sunday into early Monday.

Additional rain chances return Tuesday.
