Northwest holds 5th seed in MIAA Tournament next week

MARYVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) — The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team holds the fifth seed in next week's MIAA Tournament.

The Bearcats will take on No. 4 Missouri Southern at noon on Friday, March in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament in Kansas City at Municipal Auditorium.

Northwest defeated Missouri Southern back on Feb. 12, 65-60, in Joplin.

On Saturday, the Bearcats capped off the regular season with a one-point win against Emporia State, 71-70.

Northwest finished the regular season with an 18-11 record and 11-8 mark in conference action.

The Bearcats have won eight of their last 10 games.
