ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — A new Chipotle restaurant and drive-thru coffee shop is officially being planned on the former Belt Highway Golden Corral property, which was demolished Monday to pave way for the new development project.

The owner of the property at 715 N. Belt Highway in St. Joseph, formerly the home of Golden Corral, confirmed to News-Press NOW the plan is to construct a new Chipotle restaurant and a new drive-thru coffee house on the 1.8-acre plot of land. The specific type of coffee shop is unknown at this time.

The property is currently owned by East Hills Properties under the care of Craig Realty Group and President/CEO Steve Craig, who confirmed the upcoming development plan Monday.
