Local Gymnastics gym hosts Spirit Showcase at Civic Arena

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- Mega Gymnastics and its All-Star Cheerleading teams hosted their annual spirit showcase and senior recognition at the Civic Arena Sunday afternoon, celebrating team achievements and honoring graduating seniors.

The athletes showcased their routines for supportive friends and family, filling the arena.

Dancers from Studio 29 also participated in the showcase alongside the cheer teams.

"Tonight is all about getting to showcase for all of our athletes, to their friends and family," Mega Gymnastics Head Cheer Coach Sky Smith said. "Specifically those seniors and dancers to get to perform one last time in their hometown for all the people that can make it."

Nine seniors were honored at the showcase, highlighting their dedication as cheerleaders and dancers throughout their years at Mega Gymnastics.

"A lot of these seniors I've had from the time I took over at Mega," Smith said. "Every kid holds a really special place in my heart. They're like family."

Mega Gymnastics will head to Orlando, Florida, to compete in the D2 Summit Championship from May 8th through May 10th.

Tryout applications for the 2026-27 season are now available for those eager to join the team.
