ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- Monday's City Council meeting saw Mayor Larry Miller take up the gavel for the first time.

Miller was sworn in as Mayor last Monday afternoon, as well as other City Council members.

During the meeting, the council passed a bill that sees the city dedicate $4,000,000 to a construction project for Hyde Pool.

"I was kinda nervous, but it feels real good now," Miller said. "The city of St. Joe is great. And I hope the things we do make it that much better."

The St. Joseph City Council will hold their next meeting at City Hall on May 11th at 5:30 p.m.
