Maryville’s Hoffman wins MEC title; Savannah claims team championship

MARYVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Savannah Savages boys golf team claimed a conference title on Monday and a Maryville freshman took home an individual conference championship.

Savannah won the Midland Empire Conference with a team score of 316 at Mozingo Lake Golf Course. The Savages defeated Maryville by 13 strokes (329). Chillicothe took third place with a score of 335 and Benton was one stroke behind the Hornets with a 336. Bishop LeBlond took fifth place with a team score of 341.

Maryville freshman Colin Hoffman won the MEC individual title on Monday. Hoffman finished with a score of 71. Savannah junior Levi Lindley took second with a 72 and Chillicothe freshman AJ Warren posted a 76 to finish third.

  • 3rd- AJ Warren (Chillicothe)- 76
  • 4th- T. Shuster (Savannah)- 79

  • T-6th- B. McCoy (Benton)- 81
  • T-6th- Zack Ziesel (Bishop LeBlond)- 81
  • 8th- C. Spaeth (Savannah)- 82
  • T-9th- K. Dudeck (Savannah)- 83
  • T-9th- K. Morlock (Benton)- 83

Morlock had a hole-in-one on the Par 3 11th hole during the tournament at Mozingo Lake.
