Two women injured in crash at St. Joseph intersection, damages light pole

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Two women were hospitalized with minor injuries after a crash Tuesday morning at North Woodbine Road and Sherman Avenue.

According to the St. Joseph Police Department, one vehicle was traveling east on Sherman Avenue and attempted to turn left to go north on Woodbine Road. The vehicle failed to yield to a another vehicle, which was heading south on Woodbine, causing the crash.

The vehicle heading south on Woodbine collied into a utility pole nearby causing it to break. Evergy crews are working to repair the damage, and the utility pole will need to be replaced.

The North Woodbine Road and Sherman Avenue intersection will be closed off until further notice, due to the damage to the pole.
