Local flower shop handles hefty Mother’s Day sales

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- Garden Gate Flowers is one of the biggest flower shops in St. Joseph for Mother's Day purchases.

The shop fulfills hundreds of Mother's Day orders, preparing some six months in advance to meet demand.

In addition to Mother's Day orders, the shop handled seven other events over the weekend.

To meet its Mother's Day commitments, Garden Gate Flowers sourced arrangements from South America to Canada.

"We do things in stages," Stacy Fisher, owner of Garden Gate Flowers, said. "We have deadlines that we set for ourselves each day. Baby deadlines to make the big deadlines happen."

Garden Gate Flowers prepared over 1,000 roses for Mother's Day.

Since COVID-19, Garden Gate Flowers reports increased Mother's Day sales.
