Downtown bakery set to open in the summer

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- Bell's Bakehouse will be moving its business to a permanent shop on Frederick Avenue.

The business, which will soon be located at 1209 Frederick Ave., is known for participating in catering events around the city.

The bakery is hoping to open its doors to the public in mid-July once everything is set up indoors.

"Bell's Bakehouse started through community support," said Inbal Hazlett, owner of Bell's Bakehouse. "We decided to join Frederick because we care about the growth of Downtown."

The shop will have a dining area, as well as the option to purchase treats and leave the shop for customers who would like to eat on the road.

Hazlett said she is planning on starting off business hours early in the morning and closing around 2 p.m. daily.
