JD Vance visits Kansas City Manufacturing plant

KANSAS CITY, Mo (KQTV) -- Vice President JD Vance flew into Kansas City on Monday for a rally held at Milbank Manufacturing Company.

The former Senator from Ohio strolled into the rally around 1 p.m. and was welcomed by several elected officials from Missouri.

He discussed how important manufacturers in America are to him, and several other policies under the Trump administration.

The elected officials included Governor Mike Kehoe, Senator Eric Schmidt and Representative Jason Smith.

"What Donald Trump has done in just 18 months, with the support of the great congressional leadership here today, is that we have made it great to build in the United States of America once again," Vance said. "We're investing in the United States of America once again, and we're investing in American workers."

The rally was put together on short notice following the new Congressional voting district boundaries being finalized.

Vance touched on his appreciation of workplace manufacturers during and since the COVID-19 pandemic in the opening minutes of his speech.

"There were a lot of people who were sitting at home on a laptop, doing absolutely nothing and doing a paycheck," Vance said. "There were a lot of people who had to come to work and build the things Americans need. They didn't get to sit at home and do nothing. You guys came to work, and we're proud of you for it."

Milbank Manufacturing Company has been in business for nearly 100 years in Kansas City.
