ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Central Indians boys volleyball team's best season in its short history ended Thursday night in the Class 2 Quarterfinal.

The Rockhurst Hawklets defeated Central in five sets — 3-2.

The Indians jumped out to a one set to nothing advantage with a 25-22 victory. In the second set, Central continued its early success. Central outlasted Rockhurst in the set, 25-20.

In the third set though, Rockhurst started its comeback. The Hawklets bested Central in the third — 25-21.

Central held a 17-14 lead in the fourth set, but Rockhurst stormed back in the set to win — 25-22 — to force a fifth set.

Rockhurst took a quick 2-0 lead on Central in the fifth set on a pair of Central errors. The two teams traded points until Rockhurst pulled away down the stretch to defeat Central — 15-8 — and win the Class 2 Quarterfinal match.

Central finishes the season 29-7-1 in its third season as a program. The Indians won a conference title and a district championship in 2026.
