WATCH: Benton baseball turns triple play in district title game

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- During the Class 4 District 16 baseball championship game, the Benton Cardinals turned one of the rarest plays in baseball.

The Chillicothe Hornets had the bases loaded with nobody out, but the Benton Cardinals were able to get out of the jam with a 4-3-6 triple play.

The Cardinals defeated Chillicothe, 6-2, to win the Class 4 District 16 title.

Benton will host Excelsior Springs at 5 pm on Tuesday, May 26 at the MoWest Spring Sports Complex.
