Woman killed, teen injured in Pleasant Hill, Mo. shooting

PLEASANT HILL, Mo. (KQTV) -- A woman was killed and a teenager was injured in a shooting in Pleasant Hill on Monday.

According to the Pleasant Hill Police Department, officers were called to the Price Chopper, located at 2101 N. State Route 7 Highway, on reports of a shooting just before 4:30 p.m.

In a press conference, Pleasant Hill Police Chief Tommy Wright said a 45-year-old woman, who was shopping at the store, died at the scene and a 17-year-old male employee was taken to the hospital.

Wright added that the suspect, a 27-year-old male, was taken into custody and transported to the hospital with a self-inflicted wound. He is reported to be in stable condition.

Police are still searching for a motive in the shooting.
