ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph School District's Board of Education will vote on the proposed update to the Career Ladder program, as well as an agreement for future facilities planning.

The school board will vote to approve of the district's proposed Career Ladder plan that includes a change from a three-tier system to a two-tier system. The change will make the highest annual stipend $3,000.

In the three-tier system, the highest stipend was $5,000. The changes come as state funding as decreased and the Missouri Career Ladder Program is funded through a state-local matching grant structure.

The board will have to vote to approve the new two-tiered system.

Also, the board will vote on a facilities planning agreement with DLR. The contract will be for $60,000. DLR will help district administrators and the school board gather and organize data from the prior Long Range plan, an update to capacity and utilization of school buildings and all other data for Facility Condition and Educational Suitability.

According to the contract, DLR will help the district forecast and prepare for the next 5, 10 and 15 years with updated data from schools around the district.

The board will also have to vote and approve the new $60,000 contract.
