Young Artists Perform at Cafe Acoustic

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Lanham Music gives young performers the opportunity to perform on a live stage at Cafe Acoustic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20th.

Lanham Music Rock Camp concluded with a final-day performance, giving young artists the opportunity to play music from different genres. The Rock Camp ran from Monday, June 15 to Saturday, June 20.

The event offered two different shows: one at 2:00 p.m. and another at 5:00 p.m. The first show featured two bands, Barbed Wire and Lunch Detention, while the second showcased The Quills and Skull Orchard.

"Almost every time, what happens is the student or participant expects one thing. Then, what they actually achieve goes tremendously beyond that expectation," Lanham Music Teacher Beaux Lux said. "Everyone is surprised. They can't believe that at the end of the week, 'Oh my gosh, I did that.'"

Once the bands performed, Lanham held a raffle for five free guitars for young attendees, marking an exciting close to the weeklong camp experience.
