ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) — The St. Joseph School District Board of Education voted on next year's budget during Monday night's meeting.

According to district documents, school officials project revenue for the next fiscal year to total $167,915,740.

Projected expenses for the fiscal year are estimated at $171,328,217.

District documents show that when the district's reserve fund balance of $28,252,366 is combined with the projected revenue of $167,915,740, total available funds would be $196,168,106.

After subtracting the projected expenses of $171,328,217, the district is expected to end the fiscal year in June 2027 with a fund balance of $24,839,889.

Based on those projections, the district's reserve ratio would be 8.35%. This number is below the board's policy of the district keeping a 20% reserve.

The motion was passed unanimously, 6-0 during the meeting.
