Highland Golf Women’s Tournament

Micah Stolley

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Saint Joseph Country Club hosted the 53rd annual Women's Golf tournament.

The Ladies Highland Classic Golf tournament began in 1973 and has continued to support women's golf ever since.

The golf tournament featured about five flights, allowing women golfers of all skill levels to compete.

Many of the best women golfers in the Northwest Missouri region compete in the event to help promote women's golf in the area.

"Probably 20 or 30 ladies that do something for the Highland," Chairman of the 53rd annual Highland Classic Ladies golf tournament, Kathy Crawford, said. "The best golfers in Northwest Missouri come here to golf at the Highland Classic because it's such a prestigious and premier ladies golf event."

Highland Golf plans to bring back vintage tournaments and other events held prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
