Northwest announces 2026 M-Club Hall of Fame class
MARYVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Northwest Missouri State University M-Club Hall of Fame class features All-Americans, MIAA champions, a national championship–winning coach and players, plus a national championship team and the Voice of the Bearcats.
The Class of 2026 features former quarterback Trevor Adams (2010-2013), former volleyball player Maddy Bruder (2015-2018), the Voice of the Bearcats John Coffey (1985-pres.), former Northwest head men's basketball coach Ben McCollum (2009-2024), former point guard Justin Pitts (2013-2018), former track and field athlete Kim Spriggs (1987-89), and the 2016-2017 Men's Basketball National Championship team.
As the quarterback, Adams guided the Bearcats to a 2013 National Championship. He led the Bearcats to a 36-6 record in his career that included a 25-5 mark in the MIAA and an undefeated 15-0 season in 2013.
Bruder became Northwest volleyball's first AVCA First-Team All-American in 2018. She was the MIAA Player of the Year in 2018. The Firth, Neb. native was a four-time first-team all-MIAA performer from 2015-2018.
Coffey has been the Voice of the Bearcats for more than 40 years and has called 508 consecutive Northwest football games entering the 2026 season. He graduated from Northwest in 1982 and started his radio career at KXCV, Northwest's National Public Radio affiliate. Coffey was inducted into the Missouri Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in June.
McCollum led the Northwest men's basketball team to four national championships including a three-peat. He went 394-91 in his career at Northwest. The Bearcats were 32-7 in the NCAA Tournament and 12-0 in Elite Eight games under McCollum.
Pitts was the first Bearcat men's basketball player to be named NABC's NCAA Division II Player of the Year in 2017. He was also named the Small College Basketball's Bevo Francis Award winner in 2017. He helped guide Northwest to its first men's basketball national title.
Spriggs was a three-time NCAA All-American for Northwest. She was a five-time MIAA champion for the Bearcats in track and field. Spriggs placed third in the nation in the 400-meter hurdles at the 1988 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The 2016-2017 Bearcat men's basketball team won the program's first NCAA Division II National Championship with a 35-1 record. Northwest started the season by winning its first 24 games, and after a loss to Missouri Southern on Feb. 18, the Bearcats rattled off 11-straight wins to win the national title.

The Class of 2026 will be inducted into the M-Club Hall of Fame during the annual festivities on Friday, Oct. 30 in the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom and will be recognized during the Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 31, vs. Emporia State. Tickets for the Friday evening banquet may be purchased on the Bearcat athletics website. Seating for the event is limited and the deadline to reserve your spot at the banquet is Oct. 16, or until tickets are sold out.
