BUCHANAN COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A St. Joseph man faces multiple charges after a single-vehicle accident late Saturday night on Interstate 29.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 39-year-old Jamithunn A. McNeely was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger southbound near mile marker 48.8 within the St. Joseph city limits just after 11:00 p.m. on July 4.

The pickup truck traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck the ground, coming to a rest on its wheels facing southwest.

McNeely, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries in the crash.

He was transported by Buchanan County EMS to Mosaic Life Care for treatment.

Following the incident, McNeely was arrested on requested charges including driving while intoxicated, failure to register the vehicle, and failure to drive within the right lane of a highway with two or more lanes resulting in an accident.

He was later released for medical treatment.

Trooper J.D. Schmidding investigated the crash, with assistance from Conservation Agent Pryor.
