ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph Board of Education has appointed Kendra Hodgins and Misty Burright as Assistant Principals at Central High School for the upcoming school year.

Hodgins started her career with the St. Joseph School District in 2014 as a paraprofessional. She later transitioned into a classroom as an elementary teacher.

She has spent the last three years as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Truman.

“As Assistant Principal at Central High School, I am committed to building strong relationships with
students, families, staff, and the community,” said Hodgin. “As Central enters a period of significant
change, I look forward to building trust through meaningful connections and providing a calm, steady,
presence for students, staff and families. I am a lifelong St. Joseph resident and a graduate of St. Joseph School District, and I am passionate about giving back to the community and school district that helped
shape me.”

Burright has more than two decades of experience in public education. She most recently served as an Assistant Principal and Athletics Director at Bode Middle School.

Throughout her career, Burright has served as a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) coach, Prairie Lands Writing Project Teacher Consultant and a member of SJSD Curriculum Writing Teams.

As Assistant Principal, Burright looks forward to partnering with students, staff, families and the
Community to support academic excellence, student well-being and a positive school culture where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
