Local volleyball team wins AAU national championship

St. Joe Storm Volleyball

ORLANDO (Fla.) -- A local volleyball team won a national championship this month.

The St. Joe Storm won the 16 and Under Ascend Division AAU Nationals in Orlando, Fla. over the weekend.

The team went 12-0 last week and took home the title.

The St. Joe Storm's roster includes several northwest Missouri volleyball players:

  • Everleigh Bane (Park Hill)
  • Kinley Lair (Rock Port)
  • Ava Libel (Bishop LeBlond)
  • Ella Estes (South Harrison)
  • Emily Conz (Bishop LeBlond)
  • Maya Acosta (Bishop LeBlond)
  • Greely Simpson (Central)
  • Mya Urwiller (St. Joseph Christian)
  • Tatum Moss (Mid-Buchanan)
  • Myla Flinn (Mid-Buchanan)

There were 51 teams that competed in the 16 & Under Ascend Division.
