Platte City prepares for annual fair

PLATTE CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Platte City will host the 163rd Platte County Fair next week.

The Platte County Fair is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1863. This year, the fair starts Wednesday, July 22, and goes through Saturday, July 25.

Kicking the week off on Wednesday is a Rodeo at 8 p.m. Following is a Demolition Derby on Thursday and Friday starting at 7 p.m. Ending the big events of the week is a Truck and Tractor Pull on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

There will also be concerts, 4-H/Livestock events and contests that attendees can enter.

Admission is $15 during the week and $20 over the weekend, though kids 10 and under are free. Bring cash to the door as ATMs are limited.
