Cameron man dead in mult-vehicle collision in Caldwell County Friday evening

CALDWELL COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop H, a 71-year-old man from Cameron is dead after a multi-vehicle collision Friday night.

The report states that the incident occurred at approximately 9:26 pm on Friday, July 17, at the intersection of Northwest Old Highway 36 and Northwest Center Road, about 5 miles east of Cameron.

A 2017 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 17-year-old woman from Kidder, was eastbound on Old Highway U.S. 36 when it crossed the center of the road and struck the back of a 1931 Chevrolet Coupe traveling westbound. The Elantra then struck a 1936 Chevrolet Sedan driven by a 71-year-old man from Cameron.

After the collisions, a 1973 Chevrolet Nova, driven by a 29-year-old man from Independence, rear-ended the '36 Sedan.

The 71-year-old man from Cameron was transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center, where he died.

EMS also transported a 58-year-old male passenger from the 1936 Chevrolet Sedan to Liberty Hospital. There were no other injuries listed on the report.
