Nodaway County passes pause on data center construction

NODAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Nodaway County passed a temporary six-month moratorium on the construction of data centers.

The vote took place Tuesday morning.

While the construction isn't banned permanently, the commissioners could vote to extend it up to another six months.

During the six months, the commissioners plan to: meet with residents, talk to developers, consult utility providers, work with emergency management officials, review engineering studies, consider possible regulations and evaluate potential tax incentive agreements.
