Eric Bieniemy makes his return to the Chiefs

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Kansas City Chiefs Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy made his return to the organization at Monday's practice.

Bieniemy had his first practice back with the Chiefs Monday morning for the first time since his wife, Mia, was hospitalized with a gunshot wound.

Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid said he was thrilled to have Bieniemy back.

"Good to have EB (Eric Bieniemy) back," said Reid. "He's back in the fold, and I don't think he missed a step. He was out there getting after it, and that's a positive for the offensive side."

Reid wasn't the only one excited to have Bieniemy back at practice. Nick Bolton and Kingsley Suamataia shared the sentiment behind having their coach back.

"Having a guy like that, a competitor, come back brings out the best of us," said Bolton. "That's great to have him back in the building."

"He's a great guy and very vocal," said Suamataia. "He pushes us to our limits every day so we can be the best offense out there."

Bieniemy and the Chiefs will be back on the field at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, with practice open only to exclusive season ticket members.
