ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Dance Arts Center is celebrating its 42nd season of teaching dance with an open house.

The open house will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the main studio, 1902 Jules St.

The open house is free and open to the public.

Attendees will be treated to tours of the studio, snacks, games, music, meet-and-greets with the dance instructors, giveaways and a bounce house.

Guests will catch a sneak peek of the DAC competition team as they rehearse a dance for their upcoming season.

Costumes and used dance shoes will be available for purchase.

"We're so excited to continue our legacy and begin our 42nd dance season serving the greater St. Joseph area with our 2026-2027 dance classes," Marla Heeler said. "I'm very proud The Dance Arts Center has grown into one of the most recognized names in our community known for our outstanding staff, organization, creative productions and age-appropriate costuming. We're especially proud of our Beyond Dance Program allowing dancers with special needs to participate in dance classes and perform in our annual recital."

The Dance Arts Center offers more than 80 classes for children, pre-teens, teens and adults comprised of ballet, tap, pointe, jazz, contemporary, musical theater, tumbling and hip-hop.

Heeler invites the community to the open house to have fun and learn more about the center's 42 years of history.
