Royals’ Cameron named AL Pitcher of the Month

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Kansas City Royals left-handed pitcher Noah Cameron has earned an American League Player of the Month honor for his performances in August.

Cameron was named the August AL Pitcher of the Month on Thursday.

The St. Joseph, Mo., native went 4-0 with a 1.87 ERA in August. Cameron struck out 24 batters in 33 2/3 innings.

He held an American League-best 0.80 WHIP and was second in the American League with a .155 batting average allowed.

Cameron is 9-8 on the season with a 4.08 ERA with 138 strikeouts in 154 1/3 innings.

The Royals lefty's teammate, Jac Caglianone, was named the August American League Player of the Month. He hit .411 with 39 hits and 26 RBIs. Caglianone had a 1.113 OPS in August.
