MOUND CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation is planning to replace the bridge deck on Missouri Route 118 over Interstate 29 in Mound City and will hold a public meeting to discuss the project.

The Route 118 bridge deck replacement is one of two projects planned in the area. A separate project will address bridge approaches along I-29 between Mound City and U.S. Route 59.

Both projects are currently scheduled to go out for contractor bids as part of MoDOT’s February 2027 letting.

MoDOT will hold a public open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 19 at Mound City Middle School, located at 708 Nebraska St. There will be no formal presentation.

Residents can attend at any time during the open house to speak with project leaders, ask questions and provide comments about the planned work.
