SAVANNAH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A new event took place at Old MacDonald's Farm in Savannah to bring in that fall feeling.

OctoberFest is the first ever event of its kind at the farm, and it brought in hundreds of residents from Andrew and Buchanan counties.

Event organizers say they wanted to make use of the space they had and bring the community together to take advantage of fall festivities and the cool weather.

Local vendors, horseback riding, hay rides, and other activities were set up for families to enjoy.

A fundraiser was also held in the form of a baby show, where all proceeds went towards Children's Mercy Hospital.

Organizers say it was a lot of work, but worth it.

"Trish did the majority of it. I just helped her share the event, get some of the vendors and stuff," said Michelle Mosher, a co-host. "But she's been busy. Very, very busy. It's a learning curve, so we'll learn from this year."

Octoberfest ran until 8 p.m. at Old MacDonald's Farm, with next year's event being planned for around this time next year.
