5 arrested in St. Joseph drug bust

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- Five people have been arrested stemming from a drug bust in St. Joseph on Wednesday.

According to Buchanan County Sheriff Bill Puett, five people were arrested following a search warrant in the 1300 block of South 24th Street. 

Puett said in a release on Friday that law enforcement discovered nine grams of fentanyl, methamphetamine, eight grams of psychedelic mushrooms, and several firearms associated with drug distribution. Puett added that some of the firearms were stolen. 

According to the release, the case has been submitted to the Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. 

The Special Operations Division — Drug Strike Force conducted the drug bust with the St. Joseph Police Street Crimes Unit and Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control.
