ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A local service organization is holding its yearly dinner event over the weekend to benefit other organizations across the community.

The Southside St. Joseph Rotary club is hosting the 41st Annual Chili and Soup supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday evening at InterServ.

Anyone who wishes to partake in the event is encouraged to "Come hungry, bring friends and buy raffle tickets" when arriving at the supper.

"We usually see upwards of 700 plus people come in," Co-President of Southside St. Joseph Rotary Jeff Penland said. "We serve them chili, soup, and homemade desserts that you can't beat anywhere else."

Proceeds from the event will go towards several community organizations.

Such as eradication of Polio, High School scholarships, and environmental stewardship.
