Maryville duo wins Class 1 state tennis doubles title

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Maryville Spoofhounds have Class 1 state tennis champions.

On Friday, Kyler Skidmore and William Sheil won the Class 1 state doubles championship.

The team defeated Principia's Reid Schauman and Shepherd Thomas — 4-6, 6-2, 10-7.

Maryville's doubles champions won their semifinal-round match earlier in the day against Greenwood's Archer Anbari and David Holden — 6-2, 6-2.

Skidmore and Sheil lost just one set in their four matches in the state tournament.
