MoWest workforce development building hosts coffee event

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The One Stop Partners held its Coffee Nexus event at the Houlne Center Thursday morning.

The event was held for industry partners, students, faculty, and staff to come grab a coffee and see some of the programs housed in the building.

"The students at MoWest utilize it in their programs for engineering technology, construction technology, and cybersecurity specifically," said Rebecca Lobina, director of Workforce Development. "We also house our workforce development trainings out of this building."

Even though the Houlne Center has only been around for a year and a half, it aims to be a necessary addition for workforce learning at MoWest.

The One Stop Partners plan to host Coffee Nexus events every two months for the next year.

"Over the next year, we really plan to grow the crowd," Lobina said. "The more people we can get to see what's really going on in the activity level, the better for the region."

The next Coffee Nexus event is set to be held at Northwest Missouri State University this April.
