Griffon baseball defeats the red-hot Bearcats, 7-3

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Griffon baseball wins their fourth game in a row, taking down the Bearcats, 7-3 in a MIAA matchup.

It was a game of rotating pitchers as MoWest had six pitchers take the mound, while Northwest had five. MoWest finished with 10 total strikeouts and allowed 11 hits. On the other side, Northwest had five strikeouts, while giving up five hits.

Bearcat senior Frank Gall in his first game back in St. Joseph left his mark in this matchup. In his five at bats, Gall finished with two hits for two runs, one RBI and a home run.

Griffon redshirt senior Luke Shannahan got his team on the scoreboard early with a two-run home run. He ended up with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI in the Griffon victory.

The Griffons will be back at home on Friday, April 10 with a doubleheader against Rockhurst. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. for game one. The Bearcats will be back on the road Thursday, April 9 as they face #9 Rogers State. First pitch in Claremore, Ok. will be at 3 p.m.
