Two Cameron residents sent to Mosaic in St. Joseph after striking animal on roadway

DAVIESS COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Two individuals from Cameron were driving on Highway J on Saturday evening when they got into a wreck by hitting an animal.

The incident occurred around 7:15 pm on May 23, as the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was heading southbound on Highway J, about five miles north of Kidder. It was then that they struck an animal, causing the truck to leave the road, hit a ditch, and overturn.

The occupants of the vehicle were both from Cameron, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop H. Both the 28-year-old female driver and the 33-year-old male occupant were brought to Mosaic Lifecare in St. Joseph with serious injuries.

The report also stated that the two were not wearing seat belts.
