Dearborn-based farm getting in on ‘goatscaping’ trend

DEARBORN, Mo. (KQTV) -- Those wishing to avoid noisy lawn equipment and spruce up their land now have a new option. An environmentally friendly solution is gaining traction.

E6 Farms in the Dearborn area is now offering Goatscaping for area residents. Goats can help with brush and weed control, fence line clearing, invasive plant removal, and more.

E6 is owned and operated by Justin and Madison Ebling, who originally purchased goats as a hobby.

However, Justin is amazed by what the goats can eat and sees benefits in what that can offer to clients.

"We had a big patch of thistles recently that was about knee-high. They came in and ate it all; now it's just grass," Justin shared. They ate a bunch of thorns too. They'll clear up to six feet high on a tree."

The Eblings say goats can reach rough terrain, such as high trees or mountainous areas. In addition, the goats take out Poison Ivy with no issue, even in hard-to-reach areas.

Justin initially felt apprehensive whenever his wife Madison brought up this endeavor, but now he supports it.

"When she brought it up, I didn't think it would go as well as I thought. And it's definitely. It's worth it. Yeah, it's rewarding," he shared.

Along with all their other farm duties, Madison enjoys seeing the goats live and thrive since they started goatscaping.

"We love our animals, our farm. I mean, you get to see all of them have little babies and families, and raise them. And people love, love to see it," Madison Ebling shared.
