Crossover changes to U.S. Route 59/St. Joseph Avenue happening for incoming school year

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Work is set to kick off Monday, August 3 on U.S. Highway 59/St. Joseph Avenue, where MoDOT crews will reconfigure three crossovers along the stretch.

Two of those crossovers—the one directly in front of Robidoux Elementary’s main entrance and the next one just north of it—will be closed. "No U-Turn" signs go up at the Cook Road intersection.

The project is a joint effort with the St. Joseph School District and the City of Saint Joseph, aimed at reducing congestion during morning drop-offs and afternoon pickups at Robidoux.

Lane reductions are possible on St. Joseph Avenue between Monday, August 3, and Friday, August 7, while the work is underway.
