Car catches fire on the north end of St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- According to a neighbor, one individual's car exploded in the early morning hours of August 22nd near Independence Avenue on the north end of St. Joseph.

The neighbor's post on a Facebook crime page said the incident reportedly took place around 1:30 am on Saturday. The neighbor said she heard a massive explosion near Lafayette Middle School Football Field.

The St. Joseph Police Department does not currently believe an individual caused the vehicle fire; however, the St. Joseph Fire Department is investigating the fire's origin.
