Museum Hill stabbing victim turns to community for help after attack

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The victim of a stabbing incident at Museum Hill Apartments has created a GoFundMe to support herself and her three children as she recovers.

Katelyn Conover has been unable to work since Aug. 9 after she was attacked and suffered stabbing injuries to her face, neck and chest. She received 40 stitches as a result of the attack.

Conover opened up about how her children have been dealing with trauma as a result of her attack.

She said they are afraid to sleep in their rooms alone, and it's heartbreaking to watch them struggle while she tries to heal.

Funds raised will help cover school technology fees, gas, medical appointments, therapy and counseling co-pays, as well as the possibility of moving to a safer home so the family does not have to walk through the hallway where the attack happened every day.
