NASCAR Truck Series driver Spencer Boyd to sign autographs at American Freight

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Area NASCAR fans could meet Truck Series driver Spencer Boyd and get autographs before the races returned to Kansas Speedway this weekend.

Boyd signed autographs from 5 to 6 p.m. at the American Freight Furniture and Mattress, located at 3715 N. Belt Highway. This stop is part of a new partnership with American Freight, whose logo Boyd will dawn on his truck this weekend.

Boyd, who grew up just outside of St. Louis, considers Kansas Speedway a home track and spends a lot of time in the Show Me State when he races at the Sunflower State's NASCAR track.

"A lot of friends and family coming out. And to have a brand like American Freight Furniture mattress behind me, having so many stores here in the Kansas Missouri area is awesome," Boyd shared. "NASCAR fans are always like, ' Where are you from?, I'm proud to say I'm from the Show-Me State. There's been some really good race car drivers from this area, and I love that my name's on that list. And, as I said, it's fun to come back to homecoming."

During his meet-and-greet, he spoke with many fans, including those interested in getting behind the wheel professionally.

"Between truck and cup, there's not a lot of spots open, and I feel really fortunate. This is my 12th year to be in the sport. And, if you want to be a race car driver, you got to drive fast," Boyd said in what he shared with potential future racers. "You gotta try and win everything you can on the rings, move it up, and, just believe in yourself."

Boyd will host another free meet and greet on Sunday, September 27, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the American Freight location in Independence, Missouri. You can find this location at 2210B S. State Rte. 291 Hwy in Independence.
