Chillicothe High School girls hoops get home win over Marceline, improve to 14-1

CHILLICOTHE, MO (KQTV) -- The Chillicothe High School girls basketball team continued its strong season on Wednesday night. The 6th ranked team in Class 4 defeated Marceline, 51-34.

The Lady Hornets were led by senior Lyla Beetsma's double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore Lexy Smith added 11 points for Chillicothe, followed by junior Lydia Bonderer with 9.

Sophomore Ella Moseley led Marceline with 14 points.

Chillicothe improves to 14-1 on the season and next plays in the Grain Valley Tournament against Barstow on Monday, January 26th at 5:30 pm.

Marceline drops to 14-4 and next hosts Northeast Cairo on Thursday, January 22nd at 6 pm.
