King City, Stewartsville/Osborn boys and Stanberry, Albany girls hoops advance in King City Tournament
KING CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- The high school basketball semifinals of the King City Invitational Tournament happened on Wednesday night.
Stewartsville/Osborn boys knock out Albany
The Stewartsville/Osborn boys defeated Albany 54-41 to advance to the tournament championship.
Junior Ian Saunders led the Wildcards with 23 points, followed by sophomore Campbell Stuart with 14 points. For Albany, senior Jace Palmer led the way with 21 points and senior Daulton Worrell had 11.
King City boys withstand Maysville in win
The King City boys basketball team defeated Maysville 55-43 to advance to the championship game.
So King City will now face Stewartsville/Osborn on Friday, January 30th at 8:10 pm in the King City Invitational boys championship in King City.
Stanberry girls blow out DeKalb
The Stanberry girls team defeated DeKalb 51-24 in the tournament semifinals.
Freshman Katelyn Shisler led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points, followed by sophomore Kynzee Adcock with 8 and sophomore Tasha Stoll with 7.
Albany girls get late push to defeat King City
The Albany girls survived a back and forth battle in the fourth quarter to defeat King City, 41-36.
Sophomore Maddix Epperly led the Lady Warriors with 10 points, sophomore Kennedi Epperly had 9 points and juniors Emersyn Hogue and Jayden Hillyard both had 8. For King City, sophomore Allie Schneider led the team with 10 points.
So Albany will face Stanberry in the King City Invitational girls championship on Friday, January 30th at 7 pm.
