Dragons boys hoops fall Saturday afternoon

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- No. 2 in Class 4 Benton took down the No. 3 team in Class 3 Mid-Buchanan boys hoops in an afternoon game on the southside.

The Cardinals defeated the Dragons 79-41 at Springer Gymnasium.

Benton Senior Lincoln Goodwin led his team with 25 points against the non-con foe. Mach Mayom was also in double digits on the afternoon with 12 points, along with Jason Simmons, who sank 10 points of his own.

The Dragon's leader in points was Junior Christopher Kowalewycz with 10.

Mid-Buchanan falls to a 20-4 record on the season, and they’ll go to Plattsburg on Feb. 17. Benton improves to a 22-1 record and will face the Savages in Savannah on Feb. 17.
