Benton Cardinals sweep the Savages in Savannah

(SAVANNAH, MO) - The Benton Cardinals come out on top in the doubleheader matchup with a 55-27 win in the girls game and a 73-33 victory in the boys game.

It was the battle of two teams that were in the top 10 in Class 4 in the girls matchup. Benton came into this week ranked #3 while Savannah came in at #10. Senior Eliana Arambula led the Cardinals with 16 points followed by sophomore Klarabelle Turner with 11. Cardinals now improve to 17-6 on the year, while the Savages drop to 20-4.

In the boys game, the Benton Cardinals came into the matchup on a 12-game winning streak. Benton's swarming defense propelled them to a win and now sit at 23-1 on the year. Savannah has now lost three games in a row and fall to 13-11.

Benton's next play will be at Bishop Leblond on Thursday, February 19 while Savannah will be back at home Friday, February 20 to take on Maryville.
