Bearcats clinch MIAA tournament spot

MARYVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) — The Northwest Missouri State men's basketball team has made the MIAA Tournament.

The Bearcats are the 10th seed in the conference tournament and will play seven-seed Missouri Southern in the opening round at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 in Kansas City, Mo. at Municipal Auditorium.

Northwest defeated the Lions in their only meeting this season. The Bearcats won, 81-74, down in Joplin back on Feb. 12.

The Bearcats capped off the regular season on Saturday with a 25-point win on the road against Emporia State.

Northwest finished the regular season with a 15-15 overall record and 8-11 in the MIAA. The Bearcats have won six of their last 10 games.
