MoWest baseball gets walk-off victory over Rockhurst; Griffons have won six straight games

(ST. JOSEPH, MO) - The MoWest baseball team won in dramatic fashion on Sunday. In the bottom of the ninth with the score tied 7-7 with Rockhurst, the bases were loaded for senior Luke Parmentier. Parmentier then hit a line shot up the center gap to give the Griffons a 8-7 walkoff win as MoWest has now won 6 straight games.

Junior Seth Winkler finished 2-for-4 at the plate with 2 RBI for MoWest, Parmentier finished 2-for-5 with 2 RBI and redshirt senior Luke Shannahan was 3-for-5 with 1 RBI.

MoWest's pitching staff finished with 10 strikeouts, led by senior Sebastian Gutierrez with 5 in 4.2 innings pitched.

MoWest improves to 21-17 and next hosts Emporia State on Tuesday, April 14th at 5 pm.
