MoWest football alum C.J. Ravenell ready for second season with Tennessee Titans

(ST. JOSEPH, MO) - Former MoWest defensive lineman and current member of the Tennessee Titans C.J. Ravenell was seen on the sideline of the Spring Game for the Griffons on Friday.

"It's really a blessing, to be able to come back and show love and appreciation for the school that gave me to be at where I'm at right now. I come back every opportunity I get," said Ravenell.

Ravenell was not drafted in last years NFL draft, but the defensive tackle out of MoWest still made it to the league via the undrafted free agency route. Ravenell spent the preseason in 2025 with the Baltimore Ravens, before being released and picked up by the Tennessee Titans, where he started one game and had a forced fumble with 6 combined tackles. Ravenell re-signed with Tennessee last month. He's proud to be one of few MoWest alums in the NFL and rep Division II on the big stage, joining Jonathan Owens and Sam Webb in that regard. He had a message for all the undrafted players in this years draft.

"Never let the draft define your career, define who you are as a person. The opportunity is there as long as someone gives you the opportunity, put your foot in the door, you have to kick it open, kick it through, and make yourself known," said Ravenell. "Give them no option but to give you that opportunity, if you get the opportunity, you owe it to yourself and to your family and everybody who's believed in you up to that point just to do your best."

Ravenell added that he's pumped for year 2 with the Titans.

"We have a great group of young guys, guys who are hungry. We want success, we want a Super Bowl," said Ravenell. "Yes we still have some development and what not, but we're ready to win and we're ready to win now."
